great book
story of a drive-by shooting in Oakland, ca in the 90's; goes into a lot of detail about the shooters, and victims and the families and friends and also the economic reality of being black and living in public housing; also highlights the role of drugs and the sad and tragic state of the educational system or lack thereof in the lives of the people who live in these areas.
