Timothy Wilson Spencer has the distinction of being the first American serial killer to be convicted on the basis of DNA evidence - evidence that also exonerated a man who had been in prison after being wrongly convicted of committing one of Spencer's murders. A troubled adolescent from Arlington, Virginia, with a deep hatred of women, Spencer utilized his cat-burglar skills, strength, and agility to gain entry into his victims' homes, lay wait, and then bind, rape, torture, and murder them. In total, Spencer had been linked to five murders and at least nine rapes in both Richmond and Arlington, Virginia. He was convicted of the murders of four of his victims and sentenced to death. Spencer was ultimately executed in the electric chair on April 27, 1994.

First case using DNA
This was a good read. They finally caught him, d/t DNA. The jurors believed the evidence shown. Nowadays, DNA evidence is commonplace.
Great mini book about the Wilson Case
Great mini book about Serial Killer Timothy Spencer Wilson who murdered at least 5 (and very possibly more) Women in the late 1980s and early 1990s. An Innocent Man was convicted for one of the Murders committed by Wilson but was exonerated when the DNA from the rape-murder he was convicted of matched Wilson. He was eventually executed
Mundane
Justice story like newspaper.
