Publisher's Summary:
Three harrowing tales of three teenage girls who left behind a trail of murder and mayhem.
On the surface Alyssa Bustamante was a pretty 15-year-old girl who excelled in school. Behind closed doors, however, Alyssa was teenager with a dangerous psychosis...she fantasized about killing someone. Her social media pages and diaries all painted the portrait of someone with an irresistible compulsion to inflict pain onto the world. Her thoughts growing darker by the day, Alyssa dug two graves in the woods outside her home and waited...waited for the perfect victim. On October 21, 2009, she found one.
Tylar Witt lived in an affluent neighborhood in El Dorado Hills, California, with her 47-year-old single mother, Joanne Witt. Everyone who knew her described her as sweet, but fights were increasing between her and her mother. Tylar was turning into a different person; she was becoming a killer.
In 1992 Melinda Loveless would lead a gang of teen girls in the torture murder of Shanda Sharer. Caught in a lesbian love triangle, the four girls would torture the young Shanda and burn her alive. The case would shock the picturesque town in Southern Indiana and make national headlines, making an entire nation ask "why?"
Members Reviews:
All of the girls seem to have had some type of psychological problem that pushed them to act out violently to kill
This e-book contains the stories of three females Alyssa Bustamante, Tylar Witt, Melinda Loveless and her gang of three girls who were all involved in the murder of others. I found this book to be on even in that the middle story about Tylar Witt was not organized well and needed extensive editing. The first story about could use minor editing. The last story about Melinda Loveless was the best story and needed little or no editing. All the young ladies in the stories had some type of mental illness, but the families could not find appropriate resources that might have prevented their striking out in killing someone. I like the last story so well that I feel justified in giving the e-book at least 3.5 stars which round to four stars.
Sad
These stories are truly sad. Working in the mental health field, I'm curious and heartbroken by what happened in all these cases.
Twisted reading
Here are three cases of girls who murdered: Alyssa Bustamonte, Melinda Loveless, and Tylar Witt. Teenagers with a lust for blood lacking empathy or sympathy for their victims. Each is still suffering consequences as they continue to languish in prison. Just desserts for something so horrifying and monstrous. Heidi Poole did an excellent job with this
