EP90 Small Talk:What did you do over the weekend/holidays/break?
Description
"What did you do over the weekend?"
How was your break?""What did you do over the holidays?"
 "Nothing much."
 "Same old, same old."
️ Key Question|
“What did you do over the weekend?”“How was your break?”“What did you do over the holidays?”
 Meaning|
 1️⃣ Safe & Natural Answers|
Nothing much.”
“It was pretty relaxing. I just stayed home and caught up on some shows.”
“I had a nice break, thanks. Spent some time with family.”
“Nothing too exciting, just went out for a hike.”
 2️⃣ Add Details & Mini Stories|
 Example 1 — Weekend Sports|
“It was awesome! I went to see the Lakers game. The atmosphere was crazy — everyone was screaming. I almost lost my voice.”(太棒了!
 Example 2 — Cultural Festival|
“We had a big family dinner for Mid-Autumn Festival. It’s like Thanksgiving — we eat together and have mooncakes. I think I ate too many!”(我们有一场大家庭聚餐,有点像感恩节——大家一起吃饭,还吃了月饼。
 3️⃣ Cultural Insight|
Weekend = 个人时间(personal time)
 4️⃣ Common Mistakes|
“Same as usual.”(老样子。)
“Nothing too exciting, just did some grocery shopping and cooked a new dish.”(没什么特别的,就去买了菜,还试做了一道新菜。)
“Pretty much the usual, but
