First of all it’s important to understand what EDI actually is and how it fits with the Equality Act. Many organisations feel pressurised into achieving EDI goals that they go at it blindly, thinking “ok, we need more women and we need more people of colour”. Whilst this might be true, let’s not forget what the Equality Act requires. It requires that we remove discrimination from 9 protected characteristics.
