Episode 23-Alexis Saved Up 40K in a Year then Pivoted from Civil Engineer to Business Owner
Description
When you are in a job you do not like, whether it’s the company culture, or the tasks you do, or the hours of work, it is challenging to develop yourself and get clear of what you really want to do next. In this episode, Alexis spoke about her career journey
1. How she saved 40k in a year to quit her job
Finances matter when it comes to career change. Alexis talks about finding out your living expenses can help you prepare to leave a full time career. Work out the amount you need to cover your daily livings and how long that can last. This is especially important when you operate your own biz, because it’s difficult to run a biz that you love when you cannot cover your minimum costs day to day.
2. Give time and space for your own career journey
Alexis spent 2 years discovering herself: talking to a biz woman in the same field, getting out of her hometown, traveling to Byron Bay and moving to Melbourne. She continued to develop herself spiritually, emotionally and mentally and led her to develop her own system in career as a Money Coach. Sometimes rushing doesn’t get us anywhere and it’s crucial to pace yourself.
