Description

Access to Primary Care is a serious challenge in many parts of the world. In many rural communities in the developing world, a doctor could be a day’s drive away, but even in the developed world, many patients have to wait weeks for an appointment with a medical professional.

OnMed addresses this need by providing a ‘clinic in a box’ called a CareStation, which can be dropped anywhere with a mains power supply.

The CareStation provides rapid access to a ‘life sized’ medical professional as well as diagnostic tools such as a stethoscope, an infra-red thermal imager and a high-definition camera probe which can assist the medical professional in diagnosing the patient’s issues, resulting in far higher patient satisfaction than is typically the case with other telemedicine solutions. OnMed calls this Hybrid Care.

I interviewed OnMed’s CEO Karthik Ganesh at CES on the 7th January 2025.
