In this episode, Maryalice Morro interviewed Tyonne Hinson. As Director of Nursing Diversity Initiatives and the Nursing Career Lattice Program at Boston Children’s Hospital, Dr. Hinson leads and directs enterprise level initiatives to strengthen the recruitment, retention, advancement and inclusion of all members of the nursing workforce as a platform to promote health equity and reduce child health disparities. She also contributes to a broad range of nursing and patient care-focused diversity, inclusion, and health equity activities.
Prior to joining Boston Children’s, she was previously with Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in a senior nursing role directing neonatal nursing practice, leading international-global health nursing initiatives, and partnering with several leaders to create a wide range of clinical and EDI-focused strategies to build nursing and the clinically focused workforce.
With over 20 years of experience in nursing, Dr. Hinson blends a strong background in executive nursing leadership, neonatal intensive care and maternal-fetal health, international, public and global health, as well as health equity and cross-cultural competencies.
