Description

Hello & welcome back.

Hosted & edited by Tracey Duke, produced by Felix Northover and recorded via Zoom during Covid-19, we ask the question; what does it take to thrive in a world of both challenge and opportunity and most importantly, how do we build the resilience and leadership skills to get us there?

James O’Malley is a real life action man; with leadership, coaching and mentoring standing at the cornerstones of his career. A qualified NLP practitioner and coach, he specialises in change management, the integration of new practices and conflict resolution; which included time spent as the lead operational medical planner for the European Union Naval Forces Somalia in counter-piracy operations.

Prior to founding his company; Fusion Community Inititaves, he spent 14 years in the Royal Navy, where he was involved in several major projects; dealing with issues from the Ebola crisis, through to building the Somali Coastguard. James has a track record for exemplary leadership and planning in volatile situations within Iraq, the Far East and Afghanistan and accustomed to working in arduous conditions; providing real-time life support and humanitarian aid.

His belief in the power of teams and leadership stems from working in diverse environments throughout the world where he has worked with teams of all sizes; from being part of a 7-man team, progressing up to the command of 2000 personnel in the field.

Today’s wide reaching conversation covers his near death experience following a collapsed lung during his record breaking Everest attempt last year, adaptation, the power of sheer bloody minded belief and developing a purpose led business.
