As part of an initiative driven forward by Craig Townsend of the RPA (Rugby Player Association), Sam & Pete along with their teammates Sam Simmonds, Phil Dollman, Johnny Hill, James Freeman and Toby Salmon have, just very recently, developed and launched a new cider to help raise funds for two charities; The Wooden Spoon and The Exeter Chiefs Foundation. The RPA’s focus on player welfare and transitioning from the pro game, opened a door into the world of cider making, at Sandford Orchards, allowing the boys to transfer their on the pitch skills, into business and develop a tantalisingly delicious cider to be proud of. From harvesting and pressing to bottling, Rib Tickler is already holding its own against the top players; its rich aromas of honey and baked apple hitting all the right notes across the county and beyond.
