Pl: Zimny, listopadowy wiatr przenikał przez cienkie płótno namiotów Polowego Szpitala na obrzeżach zrujnowanego miasteczka.
En: The cold, November wind penetrated through the thin canvas of the Polowy Szpital tents on the outskirts of the ruined small town.

Pl: Krzysztof stał przy wejściu, próbując ogrzać zmarznięte dłonie.
En: Krzysztof stood by the entrance, trying to warm his frozen hands.

Pl: Było późne popołudnie, a niebo zasnute było ciężkimi chmurami.
En: It was late afternoon, and the sky was covered with heavy clouds.
