Description

The existing literature provides controversial results on impact of LC policy on the economy. LC policy could discourage firms from working in Kazakhstan, thus decrease employment. In 2010 Kazakhstan increased requirements on LC in Labour, Procurements, Technology Transfer and Social projects. Nevertheless employment growth in Kazakhstan during that period reduced from 7% in 2009 to 3% in 2013. This study examines the impact of LC policy in Kazakhstan.
