In this episode Amanda introduces us to the spinning vortexes of energy located along the spine and speaks about the importance of each center. She briefly pauses at each chakra and offers a greater understanding of each. The importance of the energy centers in healing trauma is to understand that when a major disruption happens in our lives it will create a blockage or a dampening of the energy in the body and therefore causes interference within the entire energy flow of the body. It is vital for the health of our energy that we find ways to release, cleanse and purify these blockages or densities. In the weeks to come Amanda will open up her exclusive studio workshop Journey Within to an online audience to assist in bringing us back into alignment and introducing tools to help keep us balanced and clear. This episode is sure to bring up some questions regarding the chakras and that's exactly the conversation that Amanda would love to have with each of you so please don't hesitate to contact her with any questions. The unfortunate truth about this episode is that it's all too common. Childhood sexual abuse by a family member stifled and silenced, stored at a cellular level until it eventually presents itself in the form of mental illness and numbed with alcohol. Charlene's story is shocking yet familiar to many. A life long struggle resulting in the planning of her own suicide and saved only days prior by the story of another. This soul conversation reminds us of that the power of our own voice may be the one thing that saves anothers life. Only you know what is right for you, but in order to discover that you must get curious first.
Tracy is no stranger to trauma, she is a warrior of life's many challenges and learned at a very young age to suppress her trauma and power on. It wasn't until her first breathwork ceremony that Tracy was introduced to a glimpse of the emotion she had been carrying for a lifetime. The session left her in awe. Opening a portal to untouched emotion and deep healing she continued to search for local practitioners and was happy to discover there was one in a neighboring community. She immediately signed up and was pleased to be greeted by her family physician as she arrived into a room full of strangers. However, her second experience was much different than the first and it left her with great reservations to attend any future events. Luckily, with the encouragement of her family physician, after dealing with many physical ailments, Tracy was convinced to return one more time with the promise that her doctor would be in attendance as familiar support. It is with deep gratitude that she mustered the courage to attend and has since continued practicing breathwork as a regular part of her healing practice. In this episode Tracy shares of the importance of breathwork not as a stereotypical modern day 'woo-woo' practice but as a necessity for everyone. It is through this practice that Tracy has heightened her meditation experiences and deepened her understanding of the power of our own breath. Amanda and Tracy discuss the importance of releasing emotional trauma through breathwork and offer us all a reminder that we are worthy of a joy-filled life no matter what your life's circumstances have been. In this episode Amanda Joy reminds us that emotion is energy in motion and the importance of shifting this energy to free ourselves from a comfortable state of suffering. Quite often in life we get distracted from the full expression of feeling and as a result we tend to stuff and suppress our emotions. When we allow this to happen we create unnecessary suffering as a result of the trapped emotion. If we can learn to offer awareness to our experiences we can then begin the process of locating the energy in the body, finding a healthy outlet to express the emotion resulting in a shift and ultimate release of stuck energy. As we learn to invite this process into our lives we will create space for a natural expression and a healthy outlet for feeling all emotions.
