I’m sad but also excited to share that this is the last episode of Season 1 of the On the Whole podcast. The direction of my business is changing and as a result, what I’m going to be sharing on the podcast is changing. New and exciting things are coming for Season 2 and I’m taking some time to regroup and plan. Looking forward, you can expect to see a lot more of falling in love with yourself and absolutely nothing about weight loss. I want to become an advocate for loving yourself and your body and nurturing it with self-care and self-love, fueling it with the right nutrition, and embracing an abundant mindset. You’ll also see a lot more interviews because I truly enjoy sharing new perspectives and having such wonderful discussions.Today’s episode came as a special request from Brianna on Instagram and I think this is such a great topic. Alie of Play with Potential was the person that came to my mind to discuss Eating for Anxiety. Alie was actually the first guest of the podcast and it feels fitting that she’s the last of this season. Alie Perkus is a Certified Holistic Health Coach who helps burnned-out young women professionals ready to start their own health journeys and take control of their lives. After living an "aggressively average," uninspired life for so long, she took things into her own hands, enrolled in therapy, and started realizing her own potential. This inspired her to pursue a career in health coaching, where she could help others like her unleash their potential. I’m so psyched to share today’s podcast interview! Last week I had the pleasure of talking to health and mindset coach, Sarah Osman about fitting out and I really loved hearing Sarah’s perspective on fitting out versus fitting in when it comes your personal health and wellness journey. She shares the how and why of following what you need instead of what you feel like you SHOULD do. Sarah talks about her experience with it and how she’s cultivated this relationship with her body where she’s so tuned in to what she needs and how to adapt in life accordingly. She also offers some really helpful and easy-to-apply tips for anyone whose struggling with that little voice in their head that always pipes up when we leave our comfort zones. I feel like I spent our entire interview just emphatically nodding my head in agreement with the spot-on points she made—especially about what happens when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable.
In today's episode of On the Whole, we're talking to fellow health coach, Lani Geistwalker about the importance of mindset in your health journey. I absolutely loved interviewing Lani and hearing her perspective on mindset. I'm so inspired by this beautiful self-awareness she has of how it impacts her life as well as how she works with her clients to help them take control of their mindsets. Lani became a certified integrative nutrition health coach in June this year. She currently works at Make-A-Wish Maine and practices health coaching part time, while also building her business Cultivating Thyme Wellness. Lani works with clients one on one, focusing on mindset coaching and bringing back balance for her clients as they navigate the challenges of life. Lani lives in Portland, Maine, but works with clients all over the country. I know you guys are going to love this episode! Enjoy! HOW DOES SELF-CARE PLAY A ROLE IN WEIGHT LOSS? I like to say that self-care is the often-neglected but always-always necessary component of a weight loss journey. In addition to living your life, you're trying to change your habits, and make different choices, and learn to listen to your body in all areas (mindset, nutrition, movement). There's so much going on that it can easily lead to burnout and overwhelm. Enter self-care. On today's podcast we're talking about: How self-care looks different for everyone Considering your intention behind self-care Why self-care is essential on a weight loss journey Why you might need more self-care at different times of your life How to make more time for self-careLinks mentioned in the episode: Join the Ditch the Diets, lose the Weight Tribe on FacebookListen to the Low-Key High Vibe podcastFind me on Instagram Email me at kylie@kyliecimaglia.com Visit my websiteListen to Alie's interview on the podcastListen to my story on the podcast

I turned thirty on June 8th. This big, milestone birthday has me reflecting a lot on the past decade. I decided to put together a list of twenty lessons I learned in my twenties. Some of them might be unique to me but I think a lot, if not most of them can be universal so I wanted to share these lessons.Over the past decade I’ve grown and changed so much and I know I still have so much growth and change to come but I’m really happy in my life right now and I owe it to these lessons I’ve learned. These lessons have helped shape me into the person I am today. Links mentioned in episode: My Soul CBD Find me on Instagram Email me at kylie@kyliecimaglia.com Visit my website
Today's episode is about the all-to-easy-to-fall-into comparison trap and how to pull yourself our of it when you've fallen in...because, let's face it. Nobody's perfect and it's bound to happen. The comparison trap is the habit of evaluating your life against someone else and to me, it means being consumed with the feeling of not being enough. Between social media and the people in our lives, it's so easy to get stuck in this trap.In this episode, I'll discuss The role of the comparison trap when it comes to health and weight lossThe different areas of our lives we can come across the comparison trapThe different people we can find ourselves comparing ourselves toWhy the comparison trap can set us backwards How to get yourself our of the comparison trap once you've fallen inLinks mentioned in this episodeSign up for my free 3-day E-course Ditch the Diets, Lose the WeightFind me on Instagram Email me at kylie@kyliecimaglia.com Visit my websiteListen to Episode 8: my weight loss story Listen to Episode 4: Unconventional advice that works: Forget where you are and focus on where you want to go
Normally when we talk about weight loss on this podcast, we're talking about the inner and outer work that we have to do on ourselves and for ourselves. Today's episode is all about the other people that might have an effect on our goals. On a weight loss journey you're learning and evolving and sometimes that can put us in a vulnerable position. And sometimes, as much as we don't want to let it, the other people in our life can get inside our heads. This episode is going to talk about four types of people you might run across in your weight loss journey and how to put the right boundaries down to protect you, your goals, and your sanity! I'm getting very vulnerable in today's episode. I'm going deep and talking about my weight loss journey and how it affected my life at different points. The alternative title for this episode was A Weight Loss Tale: There and Back Again...and There Again. That's because I've lost a significant amount of weight not once but TWICE. The first time didn't actually stick and once I learned why, the weight finally came off for good. It was a little scary to be so open and record this episode but my job as a health coach is to help women. I believe that sharing my story is going to do just that. In this episode, I'm interviewing Alie Perkus, health coach and founder of Playing with Potential. Alie helps young professionals who struggle with anxiety, depression, and mental health journeys take back control of their lives. She’s been working in marketing in a variety of industries from finance to higher education to nonprofits and now she’s finally found her home in health coaching where she loves the opportunity to give back. Alie shares how to tell the difference between the fear of starting before you really feel ready or starting without being prepared, why it’s important to make that distinction, and why following that “feeling” is going to take you exactly where you need to be.
