22: Disordered Eating and Finding Food Freedom with Ekaterina (Kate) Timofeeva
Description
On this episode, I sit down with Ekaterina (Kate) Timofeeva, a Food Freedom Coach, to discuss disordered eating. Kate is vulnerable and shares her personal history with disordered eating and diet culture. After struggling for many years and being isolated from friends and family, Kate decided to seek therapy and adopt an intuitive eating mindset. Since then, Kate has healed her relationship with her body and was able to achieve food freedom. Now Kate works as a Food Freedom Coach to help other women let go of negative feelings towards food and embrace healthy habits.
My favorite part of this episode is our discussion of disordered eating as a spectrum of behavior. There is no black and white in this area and you do not need to have a formally diagnosed eating disorder to have a strained relationship with food. If you are struggling, I urge you to reach out to friends or family members for support with seeking treatment that is appropriate for you.
