- Always make a list before you grocery shop - or at least have a general idea of what you want to cook so that way you don’t buy food you won’t eat
- pick recipes with 6 or less ingredients
- Buy seasonal
- Buy bulk
- Buy whole foods instead of pre chopped/ precut
- Replace meats a few times a week with plant based sources
- Frozen & canned Bulk fruits & veggies can be cheaper than fresh
- Be mindful of where you shop- Kroger, Tom Thumb, Whole Foods are usually more expensive than Costco, Trader Joes, Aldi. Don’t be afraid to price compare
- To avoid wasting food, use what you already have! OR if you have leftovers from the week, bag up what you don’t use and freeze them
- Do not shop hungry. You’re eyes will become bigger than your stomach.
