Mary makes an effort to retell the Virgin Mary's story from an existential perspective of empowerment, but his own ambition ultimately causes him to fail. The film's poor directing, inadequate plot, and uneven visuals lessen the emotional impact, despite Noah Cohen and Anthony Hopkins' powerful performances. Melodrama overshadows the examination of faith and identity, squandering a chance for a closer bond.
