Description

In November 2014 Shane Steele released "Soul To Soul" a seven tracked EP featuring two profound heart stopping singles titled “Woman In Silence” and "Child Abuse" on Marmalade Production Label. He is currently getting good responses from both tracks as they speaks to the hearts of many regarding the abuse and neglect of children and the abuse of women who as he said, "often live in silence because many are financially dependent on their male counter parts and some stay because of the children." Hear Shane Steel in his own words speak with Empress Skortcher on the Ever Blazing Friday Show about his inspiration for the songs, as he describes his music.

Shane Steele Early Life/Career

Born on 21 April 1964 in the historic parish of St. Thomas, Jamaica, Donval Lindsay aka Shane Steele began his relationship with music, at age fourteen as he was heavily influenced by the traditional sounds of Reggae. His love of music and devotion to the culture of his birthplace made him seek out new opportunities. Shane then started to sing and learned to play the guitar. Shane later migrated to the community of Waterhouse in Kingston, Jamaica. At the age of nineteen Shane recorded his first album for "Negus Records" based in London, England. Two singles titled "Set Not Your Heart On Robbery" and "Music Posse" were the only 45's released from the album.

Shane Steele maintained a strong working relationship with a host of talented local producers, all the while practicing his guitar skills to hone his craft as time progress. In 1990 Shane Steele signed a recording contract with "New Name Music," where he worked on his second album. The album remains incomplete due to producer Castro Brown return to England. A 45 with the single entitled, “Reggae Now” was pressed instead.

Shane took a short break for personal reasons in the early 90's. However, he continued to make music on a part time basis. In 1993 he recorded the singles “Bad Sound Producer” and "Soul To Soul" for producer Carl Smith aka Marmalade of Waterhouse, Jamaica which were released as 45's on "Music Lion Records Label."

In 1997 Shane began to do background vocals for "Honey Comb" in a popular sound competition. That same year he played the guitar with Time and Space band and the "High Symbol Band," this gave Shane the opportunity to tour Cuba and other Caribbean Islands. Now fully motivated, Shane Steele realized that music was now a full time job for him, hence he then applied himself 100 percent.

It did not take long for the Reggae scene to embrace this multi-talented artist. Shane started to do more background vocals for well renowned recording artist Tony Rebel, this also gave him a greater wealth of experience and exposure extensively touring the United States, Europe and the West Indies. Confident in his ability, Shane Steele set out to produce himself. This en-devour resulted in an EP on the Marmalade Production Label. Soon after this single “This Light of Mine” was released which given him the opportunity to enter "Sumfest Red Stripe Big Brake Competition" in 2005. With the quality and content of his music it earned him a spot in the top ten. The EP, "Soul To Soul" is available on iTunes and Amazon.

Shane is now a member of the "Top Range Band" where he plays the Bass guitar and is one of the house band for Rebel Salute Music Festival in St Ann Jamaica. Shane Steele music can be heard as far around the world as Jamaica, Africa, England, Suriname U.S.A. and Canada. Now at the top of his game and with the success he has received thus far, Shane Steel is now ready to step out on his solo career. As a Singer, Songwriter and Guitarist Shane Steele is determined to shine his light across the world stage.
