Description
Wild dogs attacking livestock is an ongoing issue for rural Australia and good conditions have led to increased threat.
Peak Industry Body, Wool Producers, is calling on the Federal Government to help fund a national strategy to beef up current pest control measures. But animal welfare groups say existing methods such as trapping and poison-bating are inhumane.
Khancoban farmer, Russell Murdoch, runs sheep and cattle across a 1000 acre property bordering the western side of Kosciuszko National Park.
He wants more funding for wild dog trapping and has taken direct action to bring attention to what he says is a growing problem.
