No Idea to Online Course Idea in 5 Simple Steps “An online course is such a powerful tool for any business.” -Amanda Dake (00:40-00:43) Most entrepreneurs struggle with finding the best online course to offer and they are not sure what topic they should cover. An online course is an amazing tool to have to help give extra value to your current client base or to start attracting new clients into your business. It's a great way to have passive revenue coming into your business, especially if you're used to working one on one or with many people. Having an online course allows you to expand your reach and maximize your time. In this week’s episode, we’re going to get you from no idea to online course ideas in five easy steps. Part One of ‘No Idea to Course Idea in 5 Simple Steps’ Here are the five steps to determine what topic your course should cover.    Setting goals  What is your overall goal for your business? Is it to create new revenue goals like new revenue for yourself? Is it to build a brand-new business or do you want to expand on your existing business? There is no wrong answer. This is just a way to plant some seeds here for you to think about. Why do you want this online course in the first place? Is it going to be for new customers, or is it going to be for existing customers? Do you have defined revenue goals? It's crucial for any venture that you go into, whether it's an online course or anything else.  What are your long-term and short-term revenue goals for this to make sense for you even to be working on in your business? How much time do you have to devote to a new project, especially like building an online course? Think about how much time you have to devote to this type of venture or project. And then, where do you want to be in twelve months with this online course idea? Do you have goals over the year for where you would like this to go? Do you want to serve hundreds or thousands of people in your online course? You have to have some type of milestones or achievements that you've hit so you can continue to grow. “Online courses give extra value to your current clients.” – Amanda Dake (00:56-00:01) Talk about your expertise. We've all invested tons of time, money and energy into becoming experts in certain things. We have experiences that we want to share with others uniquely. So, even though there's plenty of other people with similar experiences, none of them are you. So, you get to share that experience and that expertise in your unique way. Think about some things that you can do and teach others that are going to solve the problem of some kind. Your ideal customer  It will suck the life out of you if you're sitting there trying to sell something to people that don't have money to pay for it. So, make sure that the people you want to serve and the problem you want to solve, they're willing to spend some money on it. Ensure that you're building an online course that is meant for clients who can pay you for your expertise.   Part Two of ‘No Idea to Course Idea in 5 Simple Steps   Find evidence of the fact that people are going to pay for your online course. Once you have some ideas about what you can and want to teach and who you can explain it to, it's time to test those assumptions. There can be competition in your marketplace, which is fine because not everyone has your particular experience, and not everyone can deliver it in the way you can. Don't worry too much about if people are already doing it because those other people aren't you. People want to learn from you. You'll always attract your tribe. Think about three-course ideas that look the most promising and look for evidence to see which one could be the winner or most profitable. Try to look for Facebook groups of people that are gathering and trying to solve the problem that your course can solve. “Offering online courses is an effective strategy to attract new clients.” – Amanda Dake (01:01-01:03) Define your topic  Build one course at a time. Otherwise, you're going to get too overwhelmed, and none of them will get completed. But if you already have an email list or followers, survey people what they need help with. How To Move Your Brick-And-Mortar Business Online with Amanda and Kyle Dake The Coronavirus pandemic left brick-and-mortar businesses struggling to survive the shutdowns. As people are forced to stay inside and practice social distancing, they are looking for ways to stay connected to others, and social media is filling that void. Hence, there is no better time than to go online and build something valuable. In this week's episode, you'll learn about how transitioning your brick-and-mortar business online helps you stay ahead of the competition as a business leader. Part One of ‘Move Your Brick-and-Mortar Business Online with Kyle Dake’   Before the COVID-19 shutdown, Kyle was in the fitness industry for three years. He's been both a nutrition coach and a personal trainer. Recently, he became nutrition certified and started moving his business online with the mentorship of his sister and marketing expert, Amanda Dake. “Money is not the success factor, it's a byproduct.” – Amanda Dake (10:37-10:41) Amanda Dake says the key to moving your business online is authentically displaying or expressing your expertise online to build aligned relationships with the people that you want to help. When they started working together on Kyle's online business, they started from square one. They didn't go straight in for making sales but focused more on building relationships and building trust with ideal clients. They didn't use any paid advertising but were able to build out a pretty simple opt-in form where they could capture names and emails of people, then give them access to a private membership area whenever. In a short amount of time, over 400 people signed up, and this was again all organic. Kyle's online membership helped a lot of people during this time of chaos and uncertainty. Part Two of ‘Move Your Brick-and-Mortar Business Online with Kyle Dake’ Whenever you're able to show up and do the thing that you love doing, it's a snowball effect, and it keeps you going. You get more fired up, and you figure out more ways to help people, whether for money or not. Transitioning from the free lead magnet offer into a paid offer, Kyle talks about coming up with a four-week challenge that will eventually roll into a healthier lifestyle. There will be coaching sessions through the member's area online, and if you miss the current one, you have to wait for a while before you get the next one, that's how it works. And then from there, it's going to ascend into a monthly recurring membership. There's also an upsell in the funnel for a one on one coaching call with Kyle. “You can serve thousands of people around the world.” – Amanda Dake (18:45-18:53) Once everything is back into normal, some clients might not come back to the gym, but the good thing about transitioning a business online is you get to evolve it, offer more services, and offer more guidance. You can serve hundreds or thousands of people at one time on this online platform, and they can be located anywhere on the planet. There's no limit to how many people can come in and learn your expertise. So, if you are normally in a business where you are working one on one with people or even to a very small group, you're still stuck in a money trap, meaning there's only so much time in your day and there's only so many people you can serve in that amount of time.  But if we can create this more leveraged type program for your business, even as an add on, say you don't want to get rid of that one on one stuff that you're doing, but maybe you want to be able to expand that and have a little leverage in your business, these online programs are the way to do it. The best part is you create once, and it's available forever. So, you're not stuck in doing repetitive tasks. You have a little more freedom. As people who want to serve others’ right and help make their lives better, we also want to create a life that works for us. We want to have that freedom to spend time with the people that we love the most, to be able to travel again, to be able to go fishing, go walking, and do whatever we want to do while still being fulfilled professionally.  Lastly, transitioning your business online gives you a higher chance that when something like this pandemic happens again, you're not going to be completely shut down and still be able to operate online. How to Execute a Successful Lead Generation Strategy “It's possible to generate up to three thousand leads in 30 days!” -Amanda Dake (01:13-01:21) Did you know that it's possible to generate up to three thousand leads in just 30 days? How would that change your life and business?  In this week's episode, you'll learn about: The simple foundation of a lead generation funnel How you can create and execute a successful lead generation strategy Part One of ‘How to Execute a Successful Lead Generation Strategy’ How many of you out there would be able to benefit from 15 to 30 new leads a week? We all have different assumptions but realize that it can change the entire course of your business, especially if you already have your avatar or lead magnet determined, and all other basic infrastructure of the funnel itself. “My strategies help generate thousands of leads every year for businesses.” – Amanda Dake (01:37-01:41) All we have to do is take your leads from an ad, an email campaign, or even some organic traffic then, take them to a landing page that has your lead magnet as an offer on it. Typically, you have a picture of your lead magnet, book, or video series that you're giving away. You ask for their name, their email, their phone number, and then have a simple submit button.    You must have a catchy headline and a few bullet points on what you're going to find inside of that lead magnet, whether it's a downloadable PDF, a checklist, a video training, whatever your free offer is. You want to give away so much value inside of this lead magnet. There is no question in that person's mind that they want to give you their name, their email, and possibly their phone number to get the thing that you are giving them. So, from there, we're going to take them to the next step, which is a thank you page. Part Two of ‘How to Execute a Successful Lead Generation Strategy' On the thank you page, we want to send a video. Let them start seeing your demeanor. Start building some rapport. Tell them to check their email for details on how to get this thing that they just opted in for. And then, the next step also is adding a button here. If you have a Facebook group, invite them to join your Facebook group.  So now, you're going to have them get your awesome thing. You're going to tell them congratulations, record a little video, tell them what's going on over there in the Facebook group, and invite them to join you. How simple does that look? It's not that complicated, but there are a lot of little intricate details that go into building the actual funnel when it comes to domain integrations. “Benefit from 15 to 30 new leads a week.” – Amanda Dake (02:08-02:10) You want to send them into a campaign and then deliver a campaign that ranges from about five to seven emails in that campaign. They're going to get to know you a little bit better. They're going to get to know about your business. Then you're also going to invite them to do something else with you, whether it's going to a live webinar, video series, and recorded webinar training, whatever it is in this email sequence.  Don't focus too much on making a sale first because they're still in the process of getting to know you. This is all about building relationships. In addition to an email sequence, you can add some other cool bells and whistles. You can also send a text message to anybody that downloads your lead magnet. You could use text autoresponders and messenger bots.
