Dave interviews Larry and Kristy Poole. Larry is the founder of Fund the Church. He coaches Pastors and teaches them how to grow the spirit of generosity within the church. Kristy is a stay at home mom. They have been married for four years and are anxiously awaiting the birth of their second child.

Listen as Kristy shares how coming to know the Lord gave her the strength to get out of a previous abusive marriage. They had a very short courtship but they have a firm foundation based on Christ and feel that this has made their marriage stronger.

Their top three attitudes that have allowed their marriage to thrive:

1. Keeping an open line of communication.


2. Divorce is not an option.


3. Date night is a must!

Other tidbits:

• What gets scheduled gets done, so schedule everything, even your time together!


• Start your day with prayer together.


• Going for a walk every day allows you to reconnect with each other.


• Don’t just do pre-marital counseling, but go through financial classes as well.


• When you win an argument, remember that the spouse loses.

Best marriage advice:  Never be a pastor to others family at the expense of your own. And the closer you get to God, the closer you’ll get to each other.

Parting advice: Don’t get so busy that you forsake your marriage, meaning don’t substitute the urgent for the important, put your family first.
