Abby and Aaron Bean have been married for 22 years and reside in Fernandina Beach, Florida, with their three sons Bradley, Gray, and Walker. They attend Memorial United Methodist Church.

Abby is a stay-at-home mom that holds everything together and has run several businesses. Aaron serves in the Florida Senate for the 4th District which includes greater Jacksonville. Senator Bean currently works for UF Health Jacksonville as the relationship development officer.

Aaron was elected to the Florida Senate in 2012 where he serves on several committees, including the prestigious Appropriations Committee, Education Appropriations, Commerce & Tourism, and Communications, Energy, & Public Utilities Committee and is chairman of Senate Health Policy.

Prior to his election to the Florida Senate, he served eight years in the Florida House of Representatives. During his tenure in the Florida House, Aaron received numerous awards and recognitions for his effective, conservative leadership and additionally was trusted by then-House Speaker Marco Rubio to serve as the chairman of the House Health Care Council, which handled all health care policy in addition to the appropriations of about one-third of the state budget.

Senator Bean was just named Senator of the Year for the second year in a row by The Able Trust of Florida, which works for people with disabilities and was given an A rating by the Florida Chamber of Commerce. He is a Florida licensed Auctioneer and is owner of The High Energy Auction Company.

Attitudes/actions they’ve taken to allow their marriage to thrive:

• Aaron’s focus, when he comes home from time away on politics, is he’s glad to see them and focuses on them.


• Marriage is work, and they’ve been committed to it from Day 1. They make a conscious effort.


• They are supportive of each other in everything they want to do, and give each other space.


• They like alot of the same things.

What has their marriage done for their kids:

• There is no height the kids can’t reach from the foundation they’ve been given.

Best Marriage Advice:

• “This too shall pass”.


• Marriage takes work.

What is one thing you know now that you wish you had known before you got married?

• Everything is not about you – it’s about the two of you and the other person.

• If you trust and love each other, you’ll be able to move on beyond the little stuff that might bug you.


• Always appreciate what you have


• Have a sense of humor in everything you do.
