On today's episode we are joined by the pioneer of Bioacoustic Biology herself, Sharry Edwards, to teach us about the link between sound frequency and health. Sharry provides the leading-edge research to show voice as a holographic representation of the body and how it can be used to change the face of medicine.

Using the unique techniques of Vocal Profiling and evaluation, emotional as well as physiological issues can be revealed and addressed. Sharry's work with the human voice reveals that people who share similar traumas, stresses, diseases, toxicities…share similar, if not identical, vocal anomalies. She brings together ancient knowledge with modern ideas of harmonics and frequency relationship theories to show that math can be used as a form of predictive, diagnostic and curative foundation for wellness.

Dr. Mike Belkowski, CEO of BioLight, specializes in dry needling, cupping, blood flow restriction training, Mulligan joint mobilizations and, yes, red light therapy to help his patients achieve pain reduction and recovery as effectively and efficiently as possible. Dr. Belkowski is a voracious reader and is constantly questioning the status quo, especially in the health and wellness sector. He loves to synthesize all of the information from the vast amount of books and research articles he reads and put it to practical use.
If you feel inspired to grab a BioLight for your red light therapy at home after this episode, you can use code "biocurious" to get 10% off of one. You will find the link below.
On this episode we discuss:

In 2016 she obtained an additional board certification in Integrative Medicine.
In this episode, Dr. Scott and I dive deep into a discussion around hormonal health (men and women), the natural lifestyle shifts that can impact hormonal balance as we age, and why "testing not guessing" is critical to achieving optimal performance. Dr. Scott was traditionally trained as an MD, and graduated medical school at the age of 23. Driven to take a more natural approach to her practice, and through working at solving her own issues with infertility, she was able to cure her own endometriosis! Dr. Scott is passionate about educating the medical community on the advances in evidence-based hormone therapy, and lectures around the community to raise awareness about wellness and hormone balance.
On this episode we discuss:
What drove Dr. Scott initially to focus on learning more about hormonal health
The challenges of practicing integrative medicine in a corporate setting
How insurance can limit your options related to self-care and prevention
The concerns related to the use of exogenous hormones
Why practicing a healthy lifestyle in your early years can ease your transition into menopause
Natural alternatives to manage hormone levels without medication
Why stress management via mindfulness practices are so important to maintain balanced hormones
How each of the hormones affect health in men and women
Why testosterone levels are important for women to maintain
The 3 different types of estrogen
A description of "MANopause" and how it relates to low testosterone in men
Why it's important to monitor hormone levels - "test not guess"
The importance of working with a qualified professional for hormone level analysis
Why hormone replacement therapy is not always necessarily required
The effect that intermittent fasting has on insulin levels
The importance of consuming healthy fats and plants on a ketogenic diet
What's happening to your hormones through each phase of a menstrual cycle

Dr. Ted Achacoso is the founding pioneer of "Health Optimization Medicine and Practice" which is the clinical framework of the detection and correction of imbalances at the level of the metabolome. Dr. Ted is board certified in both anti-aging medicine and nutritional medicine in Paris. He is also trained in medical informatics, medical statistics, and artificial intelligence. He was trained in pharmacology, toxicology, neurology, and he maintains a tricontinental practice in health optimization medicine.
He also formulated Blue Cannatine, of the Troscriptions brand, which is one of the most sought after nootropics in the biohacking world. I am so grateful that he took the time to have this conversation and share his knowledge with all of us! As this extremely informative conversation lasted 3 hours, I have split it into two episodes so you guys can fully absorb the information that Dr. Ted shares with us.
In part 1 of this episode we go into health optimization medicine and what that means from a clinical standpoint and at the individual level. We also talk about everything from balancing hormones, balancing the metabolome, epigenetics, and mental health. This is a fully jam-packed hour of learning. Make sure to tune into next week's episode, where Dr. Ted and I actually get into more of the esoteric aspects of health and medicine. We talk a lot about personal development and spiritual health.
On this episode we discuss:
- Why chronic diseases are just signs/symptoms of aging
- How the body is made up of a number of interacting organisms
- Inter-kingdom crosstalk between bacteria and human cells - organisms can directly influence our DNA
- How we can use our understanding of epigentics to fine tune our environmental inputs
- How our microbiota changes based on where we live
- The concerns behind rising levels of mercury and cadmium in our environment
- nnEMF exposure and it's influence on the microbiota
- Endocrine disrupter compounds
- Why it's important to get your body to a healthly baseline first, before optimizing with "fun biotech"
- Why you will respond better to nootropics if your neurotransmitters are in balance
- What healthy brain function and balanced neurotransmitters look like, and what to aim for before trying nootropics.
- How to use correlative statistics to effectively measure your neurotransmitter levels by looking at your metabolites.
- The importance of assessing your current levels of vitamins and then supplement accordingly.
- Why it's important to go to your doctor visits prepared with questions, lab tests, and requests that apply to your individual needs and interests
- Framing your health as your most valuable asset
- Understanding that healing and balancing can take time and is not always immediate
- The Horvath epigenetic clock and telomere age testing -
