Ep 16 - A Blessing in Disguise - How Breast Cancer Led Me to Take My Life Back
Description
This week on the show Ang is joined by Miss Amber Jayne, an early childhood whisperer, who has been operating preschools in northern California for almost 20 years. Amber was married at the age of 18. However, she had a gut feeling that her relationship wasn’t going to be the fairy tale she had always envisioned. Despite this she pushed forward with the hope that things would get better in time. Unfortunately, they didn’t. When she was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 31 she realised that you only get one shot at life and decided to get hers back.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- Amber was married at the age of 18, and like so many, looked past the red flags and thought ‘things will get better.’ However, as her marriage went on, things got worse. She discusses the cycle of abuse that led her to get divorced 17 years later.
- At the age of 31 Amber was diagnosed with breast cancer, she prayed that this might be a blessing in disguise and make her husband change his ways, but he remained the same. Amber explains how this was the moment she began to come to terms with the reality of her relationship.
- Amber had four children with her ex husband, but what she discovered is that he used them as pawns to manipulate her and their relationship. She talks about how she finally realised this and the steps she took to protect her children.
- Amber signed up to the school of ‘Stay busy’ in order to help heal from her divorce. She outlines the positives of this approach and how it led her to opening and owning a number of preschools in northern California.
