Single and Ready to Mingle Part 2 - Internet Dating
Description
Ang is continuing on from last week's show on dating, this week looking at the complex world of internet dating. Dating practices have changed dramatically over the last few years and with more and more people choosing to stay home instead of a night out, internet dating has become the most popular, and convenient, method of meeting a potential partner. But, internet dating is a minefield. Luckily, Ang is here to talk you through everything from building your profile, to safety tips, first dates ideas and the bizarre concept of ‘ghosting’.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- Internet dating has come a long way since its inception and the stigma around it has certainly disappeared. Ang talks about the many options available to you and the importance of finding the right one.
- The key to starting any relationship, regardless of how you meet, is honesty. Ang gives her top tips on building your online dating profile and why it is important to be as honest as possible.
- Safety is a key aspect to consider when you enter into the world of online dating. Somebody can pretend to be anybody on an app whilst sharing a few messages, but how do you know they are who they say they are? Ang shares her tips that will help keep you safe.
- Ghosting, the phenomenon of a potential partner suddenly disappearing, is all too common on dating sites. And, unfortunately, you will experience it. Ang discusses the many ways in which ghosting can present itself and how you can build a tolerance to it.
BEST MOMENTS
“It’s important to be honest, why would you want to start your relationship with a lie?”
“Be careful spending weeks talking to someone online. You could be building a relationship with somebody who could be anybody”
“Ghosting happens all the time, but, remember, it’s always their issue and not yours.”

ABOUT THE PODCAST
Do I Really Hate Men?
Interesting question and one I have asked myself many times. This is not an ‘I hate men’ podcast neither is it just an account of my divorce and the many awful events leading up to and during it. This podcast is a safe space to delve into what happens when relationships end, it provides guidance on how to carry on being a functioning adult and/or Single Mum when you feel broken inside.
This podcast provides hope sprinkled with humour, at times its emotional at times inspiring and at times sad. I have a message to share with women around the world, come join me and your global sisters for a weekly dose of Superhero Mum inspiration and stories.
My mission -to help women and mothers globally to recover from relationship pain, lead meaningful happy lives and inspire their children to succeed.
NOTE – I need you to know that I don’t hate men! It’s important that you know there are many great men out there. Many fantastic fathers and single fathers trying hard to do a great job. I know little about the struggles of single fathers; however, I presume they are numerous common issues we share with these amazing men who strive to do the right thing by their children.
