Home Alone - Who Will Look After Your Children?
Description
This week Ang is diving into the subject of childcare, in its various forms. Moving from co-parenting to single parenting comes with many challenges. But it also comes with many logistical changes that aren’t always apparent when you are first going through the process of divorce. The biggest of these is, who will look after your children when you and your partner are not available? In this episode, Ang breaks down the many childminding challenges she encountered and how she worked through to find solutions that worked for everyone
KEY TAKEAWAYS
- In a marriage when you are unable to collect your children from school, your partner can do it. However this is not always the case once you have been through a divorce. Ang recollects the many aspects of her life that were affected by this change and how she overcame them.
- Reluctantly, Ang advertised for a childcarer. And, luckily, she found an angel. She talks about coming to this decision and the unexpected joy it brung to both her and her children.
- Once Ang recovered from her divorce and started dating again she realised that leaving her children with different babysitters every week was both expensive and unsettling. So, she wrestled with the idea of leaving them home alone. She discusses her thought process and the benefits of the decision she made.
