LVUSD School Board Member Lesli Stein Disallowed Dallas Lawrence from Abstaining his Vote
On January 11, 2022, during a Las Virgenes Unified School Board meeting, Dallas Lawrence tried to abstain from a vote and was not allowed by Lesli Stein, who quoted the Robert Rules of Order. I have reviewed the Robert Rules of Order, and Dallas was well within his rights to abstain from the vote. Lesli Stein did not understand what she was reading and made a false claim, essentially pressuring Dallas Lawrence into voting in fear of further retaliation against him. Ms. Stein has been on the board for about 13 years; she has served as the Board President, but there are times when she has abstained from votes and has no idea how to run a meeting.
