The LVUSD District Filed A Lawsuit; Without Proof That the LVUSD Governing Board of Directors Approved Moving Forward With The Lawsuit
Description
The LVUSD District Filed A Lawsuit; Without Proof That the LVUSD Governing Board of Directors Approved Moving Forward With The Lawsuit.
Based on my research, LVUSD Superintendent Dan Stepenoksy signed off on a lawsuit where LVUSD is suing JUUL. Still, LVUSD employees Kelly Beder and Ryan Gleason claim the district has no documentation supporting that the Superintendent moved forward with the LVUSD Governing Board of Education's approval.
Suppose the District office is comfortable enough not to involve the LVUSD Board of Governors in a decision to move forward with a frivolous lawsuit. In that case, it makes you wonder what else they could be doing that is unethical. Should the Superintendent be able to file a lawsuit without the LVUSD Governing School Board's approval?
JUUL E-Cigarettes are in the hands of minors everywhere, and ambulance-chasing attorneys are getting school districts to join in their frivolous lawsuits, shifting blame to JUUL for children vaping based on claims that JUUL's marketing targets minors through deceptive advertising and fun colors.
Why is JUUL being targeted? Why aren't the District's efforts being concentrated on local law enforcement, as in cracking down on stores that sell vapes to minors, and adults who buy vapes for children? This is the real problem, not that JUUL makes vapes for adults, and they wind up in children's hands.
The District is just looking for free money, and filing frivolous lawsuits is not the way they should "fundraise" for the District.
