When Ray admits he has feelings for Jess after a date, she rejects him over her secret married boyfriend, but Ray exposes the boyfriend's lies, comforting a betrayed Jess and deepening their bond.

Episode Summary:

Ray returns from a fun date with Jess’ friend Rachel, but admits he realized he has feelings for Jess instead. Jess rejects him, revealing she has a secret boyfriend - her married neighbor Morgan. Ray is appalled, but Jess insists Morgan’s marriage is over.

The next day, tensions rise as Jess tries engaging a moody Ray before his run. While out, Ray gets hit by a car. At the hospital he sees Morgan with his pregnant wife.

When Ray returns home bandaged up, he tries convincing Jess that Morgan is lying about his marriage being over. Jess refuses to believe him until Ray mentions Morgan's wife being pregnant. A distraught Jess confirms Morgan is still with his wife.

That night, Ray comforts a heartbroken Jess with food and laughter. Jess expresses optimism about finding a man who truly cherishes her. She thanks Ray for being a loyal friend and exposing Morgan’s lies when she needed it most. Their bond strengthens, leading to warm banter and a pact to avoid men like Morgan. The episode ends on an upbeat note with Jess introducing Ray to her favorite sitcom, Cheers.
