Logline: A detail-oriented but obsessive personal assistant ruins the surprise of a lavish early birthday party being secretly planned for her by her movie star boss, threatening their professional relationship, only to learn the event may have been an excuse for him to spend time with her away from work.

Episode Summary:

Billie is the hyperorganized and reliable but obsessive personal assistant to famous actor Arlo. She manages every aspect of his busy celebrity lifestyle along with her brother Max, Arlo's best friend. When Arlo and Max start covertly planning an elaborate surprise early birthday party for Billie in a week's time, she becomes consumed with finding out what they are hiding.

No matter how hard the guys try to keep it under wraps, Billie won't let it go. She interrogates Arlo's driver Jackson and tries listening at doors. Desperate for intel, she even hires a private investigator named George to follow Arlo around. When George rats Billie out to Arlo, she's busted.

Confronted by an angry Arlo, loose-lipped Jackson scrambles and mentions the party is at the home of Billie's boyfriend Luke's ex Jenna. Billie flies into a rage at the idea of being brought to the home of her romantic rival. But Arlo insists it's all a misunderstanding - he merely picked up a designer dress for Billie from Jenna, who happens to work in fashion.

Still unsatisfied, Billie gives Arlo an ultimatum - either tell her what the event is or she won't go. Arlo lies that it was going to be a star-studded surprise party for Billie with guests like Leonardo DiCaprio and Greta Thunberg to discuss climate change. He guilt trips her that she's ruined all the hard work he did planning it.

Ashamed, Billie apologizes and gets glammed up in the dress Arlo picked out. She vows to Max and Arlo in the car ride over to be less obsessive in the future. But playboy Max implies Arlo may have had an ulterior motive for the party - to spend time alone with Billie away from work because he has a crush on her. Billie and Arlo react skeptically, but there are hints of a thaw in their tense relationship.

The episode ends on an ambiguous note, with Billie and Arlo's professional friction soothed but a question mark hanging over whether Arlo's feelings for his beautiful but neurotic assistant might be more than platonic. Will the surprise party bring the pair together or drive them further apart? Listeners will have to wait until the next episode.
