Logline:

When a baseball legend hires a sarcastic matchmaker to find him love, they never expected to fall for each other amidst a comedy of errors in this heartfelt 6-part story of romance and redemption.

Episode 1 Summary:

Ray Nakamura, a wealthy, arrogant baseball star, arrives in San Francisco and hires local matchmaker Jess to help him find love, offering her a massive fee. Jess is initially resistant but agrees when Ray mentions her father's medical bills. After Jess tweets that Ray is retiring, breaking his contract, Ray worries he'll be sued for millions. To make amends, Jess falsely claims they're a couple so fans will support Ray's choice. They agree Ray will stay with Jess and she'll coach his dating skills. But the sparks between them hint at a deeper connection.

Episode 2 Summary:

Jess continues coaching the awkward Ray on his dating skills, but he hints that he may quit baseball for a family life instead. When Jess impulsively tweets about his plans again, Ray worries he'll be sued for breach of contract. To appease the team owners, Jess does an interview lying that Ray wants to start a family with her. Ray is relieved but insists Jess sign an NDA to prevent more chaos. Jess sets up a date between Ray and her friend Rachel. Though it goes well, Ray admits he's more drawn to Jess's boldness. Tension brews as their true feelings emerge.

Episode 3 Summary:

Ray takes Jess to a batting cage to secretly scout a talented young player, Diego, for the Dodgers. Jess disapproves, reminding her of her controlling mom who pushed Jess into ice skating. When Jess sabotages Diego's contract with cynical parents, Ray is furious. Later, Jess explains her past and why she protected Diego. Ray comforts her and reveals he convinced Diego's loving parents to sign. The misadventure brings Ray and Jess closer. Meanwhile, Jess plans a disastrous date for Ray.

Episode 4 Summary:

In Episode 4, Ray returns from a great date with Jess' friend Rachel but realizes he has feelings for Jess. Jess, however, reveals she's dating her married neighbor Morgan. Ray's shocked, and tensions rise as he gets hit by a car, leading to a hospital encounter with Morgan and his pregnant wife.

Back home, Ray tries to convince Jess that Morgan is lying. She only believes him when he mentions the pregnant wife. Jess is heartbroken but thankful for Ray's friendship.

Episode 5 Summary:

In Episode 5, Ray plans an extravagant 30th birthday for Jess to win her heart. Jess confesses her feelings, but Ray, fearing a return to LA, rejects her. Jess presses for the truth, and Ray admits he sabotaged her relationship with Morgan out of jealousy. Jess banishes Ray from her life, hurt by his deception.

Episode 6 Summary:

In Episode 6, Ray returns to Jess, seeking a second chance at love. Jess is skeptical but eventually opens up about her heartbreak. Ray's sincerity starts melting her resistance. They confess their love by the seaside, sealing it with a passionate kiss. At her brother's wedding, they dance together, ready for a fresh start and a lifetime of love.
