Episode Summary:

Charismatic movie star Arlo James meets his newly appointed assistant, Billie Walsh, for dinner at an upscale restaurant in LA. Though initially objecting to her hiring, insisting he needs someone more professional, Arlo finds himself persuaded by Billie's wit and audacity. Their banter reveals a complicated history and unresolved romantic feelings between the two.

The tense dinner comes to a head when Arlo angrily declares he despised Billie's late husband, Sam, exposing him as a serial cheater. Shocked and upset, Billie storms off, with Arlo chasing after to apologize. Arlo's brother Max intervenes, confirming the cheating allegations, having connected the dots about his own wife Kellie's past restraining order against Sam.

Reeling from the truth, Billie tearfully confronts Arlo, accusing him of bitterness and secrecy. In a moment of raw confession, Arlo admits he's always loved Billie, which led to his hatred of Sam. Blindsided, Billie literally flees the scene, vomiting on the sidewalk as paparazzi capture the chaos.

Arlo catches up and leads Billie to a private bench, where they hash out the misunderstanding about the depth of their past relationship. In a vulnerable moment, Arlo affirms his love for Billie, but immediately backtracks it to a strong infatuation. Billie appears unsure how to take this admission.

After some levity and banter, Billie accepts the job offer, finding common ground with Arlo despite the tumultuous evening. Their lighthearted hug makes it clear there are still unspoken feelings, even as they commit to a professional partnership. Ending on a cliffhanger, Arlo watches Billie walk away, acknowledging to himself that he remains in love with her.
