Speaker 1: Welcome to the Get Up and CODE Podcast with your host John Sonmez. The only podcast that combines fitness and programming and does it in less time than it takes to finish your workout.
John: Hey everyone, welcome back to another episode of Get Up and CODE. I am your no longer host John Sonmez but a panelist, a fellow panelist. I’ve talked about this for a while and I’m opening up the show to become more of a panel show. I’ve talked about everything I can talk about by myself about fitness and health and I need some help and some fresh ideas and some discussion points. I’ve basically turned the show into a panel show now so we’ll see how this goes.
Today we’ve got Jesse Taber and Chris Reed. Both of them have been on the show before and yeah, so we’re going to be discussing—well, this show I think—episode we’ll just be talking about what we’re going to do I guess what is a panel show, what does this mean and some introductions to get to know us. Welcome guys. Thanks for doing the—for being part of the panel.
Chris: Glad to be here, thanks.
Jesse: Yeah, ditto.
John: So everyone knows who I am, who I is but maybe if you guys want to give introductions and …
Chris: Jesse, go ahead.
Jesse: Sure. All right, I’ll go first. My name is Jesse Taber. I’m in Tallahassee, Florida. I am a software developer. I work primarily in dot net using C#. That’s the programmer side of me. As far as the fitness side, I train in powerlifting and have been using that as a means to get more fit and lose weight over the last year or so. That’s what I’ve been on the show talking about in the past and that’s my area of interest.
Chris: My name is Christopher Reed I was on the episode a couple of times as Marathon Dad. I do long distance running and let’s see, I just started this week, getting back into weight lifting and cycling because the summer is rapidly running out and I need to get some rides in before it turns to winter here. I live in Utah, a wonderful state. You can find me at Pothill Media that’s at Pothill.com come check me out. Glad to be here.
Oh, for programming and computer stuff I’m mainly working on old Legacy stuff like Unisys and old IBM main frames and stuff like that.
John: Yeah, so this is—I mean we’re basically—the idea is that we’ll have different panelists and these are rotating in and out. I might not even be on some episodes and we’ll just discuss different topics, yeah. Imagine that. After what this is, like this is episode … I don’t even know what it is. Is it at 100 yet? I don’t know.
Chris: Bravo for going that long, man. I couldn’t imagine doing a solo or one on one show for that long.
John: This would be episode 106 I think.
Chris: Man.
John: I did have a host at the beginning. I had Iris Classon that was a host at the beginning of the Get Up and CODE. Maybe she’ll come back sometime as a panelist, we’ll see. We’ve got some—it’ll be interesting to get more points of views than just mine.
Yeah, so what should we discuss today about—I guess we could talk a little bit about each of our goals and stuff and what we’re—general thoughts. This is kind of the introductory.
Chris: Catch people up we can do origin stories to let everybody know where we’re coming from and why the hell they should be listening to us.
John: Yeah, I like it. You just volunteered, so.
