Sk: Vo vzduchu bola cítiť vôňu vareného vína a pečených gaštanov.
En: The air was filled with the scent of mulled wine and roasted chestnuts.

Sk: Bratislavský vianočný trh bol plný radosti.
En: The Bratislavský Christmas market was full of joy.

Sk: Svetlá žiarili nad hlavami okoloidúcich a hudba cinkala v chladnom večernom vzduchu.
En: Lights shone above the heads of passersby, and music jingled in the cold evening air.

Sk: Marek sa zachvel.
En: Marek shivered.

Sk: Ale nie od zimy.
En: But not from the cold.

Sk: Bol nervózny.
En: He was nervous.

Sk: Vedľa neho kráčala Tereza, usmiala sa a obdivovala ozdoby na stánkoch.
En: Next to him walked Tereza, smiling and admiring the ornaments on the stalls.

Sk: Jej smiech bol ako zvončeky.

Sk: Marek mal vrecku prsteň a chystal sa požiadať ju o ruku.

Sk: Ale Jozef, ich priateľ, sa k nim pridal a zdalo sa, že ho neustále vyrušuje.

Sk: "Pozri, Tereza, tu predávajú tvoje obľúbené perníčky," povedal Jozef a usmieval sa na Terezu.
En: "Look, Tereza, they sell your favorite gingerbread here," Jozef said, smiling at Tereza.

Sk: Marek sa zamračil.
En: Marek frowned.

Sk: Čas ubiehal a jeho šanca sa zmenšovala.
En: Time was slipping away, and his chance was shrinking.

Sk: Marek predtým načasoval všetko.
En: Marek had timed everything beforehand.

Sk: Vedel, kedy sa na hlavnom námestí rozsvieti veľký strom.
En: He knew when the big tree in the main square would light up.

Sk: Ale Jozef sa stále objavoval.
En: But Jozef kept showing up.

Sk: Ich plánovať pre to nebolo zahrnuté.
En: Their plan hadn't accounted for that.

Sk: "Marek, daj mi jeden moment," zasmiala sa Tereza, keď sa obracala k sušeným kvetom na ďalšom stánku.
En: "Marek, give me a moment," laughed Tereza as she turned to the dried flowers at the next stall.

Sk: Marek zovrel päste.
En: Marek clenched his fists.

Sk: Bola príležitosť, ale Jozef sa nevzdával.
En: There was an opportunity, but Jozef wasn't giving up.

Sk: Nakoniec to Marek nevydržal.
En: Finally, Marek couldn’t stand it anymore.

Sk: "Jozef, môžeme sa porozprávať?" povedal.
En: "Jozef, can we talk?" he said.

Sk: Jozef prikývol a odtiahol Mareka nabok.
En: Jozef nodded and pulled Marek aside.

Sk: "Viem, čo chceš spraviť," povedal Jozef tichým hlasom.
En: "I know what you want to do," Jozef said in a quiet voice.

Sk: "Ale musím ti niečo povedať.
En: "But I have to tell you something.

Sk: Mám Terezu rád."
En: I like Tereza."

Sk: Marek zostal nemý.
En: Marek was speechless.

Sk: Vedel, že Jozef je jeho priateľ, ale toto... ešte nečakal.
En: He knew that Jozef was his friend, but this... he hadn't expected.

Sk: "Pozri," pokračoval Jozef.
En: "Look," continued Jozef.

Sk: "Ona ťa miluje.
En: "She loves you.

Sk: Tak urob, čo musíš."
En: So do what you must."

Sk: Napriek chaosu a emóciám si Marek uvedomil, že je to ten pravý čas.
En: Despite the chaos and emotions, Marek realized it was the right time.

Sk: Vrátili sa k Tereze, ktorá pozorovala hustú korunu vianočného stromu.
En: They returned to Tereza, who was watching the thick crown of the Christmas tree.

Sk: Zhlboka sa nadýchol, kľakol na jedno koleno a vytiahol prsteň.
En: He took a deep breath, knelt on one knee, and pulled out the ring.

Sk: "Tereza," začal.
En: "Tereza," he began.

Sk: Jozef stál bokom a pozorne sledoval.
En: Jozef stood aside, watching closely.

Sk: "Chceš si ma vziať?"
En: "Would you marry me?"

Sk: Tereza zalapala po dychu.
En: Tereza gasped.

Sk: Prižmúrila oči od svetiel a usmiala sa.
En: She squinted against the lights and smiled.
