Our chats will be just very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable ~ what a joy it was to connect with today’s tremendously talented guest. Joyful for so many reasons, not the least of which is to celebrate the premiere of her brand new comedy series called 0-60 Driving Academy, which by the way is Atlantic Canada’s 1st EVER all black family sitcom and a hilarious one at that. It’s about a single father who tries to pass down his successful driving academy to one of his ungrateful kids, and the best part? It’s based on a real-life driving school right here in Nova Scotia. Our guest today is credited as co-creator, co-writer, producer and star! So you best believe we’ll talk about all of that and so much more – including the story behind her teaming up with series co-creator Jonathan Torrens and her family’s connection to the series lead Steve Lawrence. We’ll also get the inside scoop on her incredibly impressive and oh so marginally misleading IMDb page and hear the story behind her first credit as a stunt person. Plus, we’ll chat about the forthcoming series on which we both worked, get to 1st Things First, play a fun round of INsights IN 10 and even spin some of her soundtrack tunes throughout the hour. So with all that ahead, we best get to it! Here’s my telephone conversation with the one and only Alexandra MacLean.
