Pure Bliss
Description
Broadcast Date – October 29, 2025
Our chats will be just that very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck, totally enjoyable – and today’s show is all that, along with being filled with firsts! It’s the first time we’ve had an author zoom in from one province and an illustrator zoom in from another – thankfully, we all connected so we can celebrate their first-ever book entitled “PURE BLISS: A Hilarious Parody Book About Pregnancy, Early Parenting, and Total Chaos.” It’s also the very first time I’ve ever had both my guests be related to a high school pal. You see, I met Margot Durocher during my days at Assumption High School in Burlington, Ontario, and she’s still a dear friend to this day – and get this, the author is her first child (and first daughter of three), and the illustrator is married to her first and only son. I remember the day we welcomed them to the world, and now they’ve grown up, gotten married and have kids of their own. Wonderful stuff indeed, as is their truly funny new book PURE BLISS. So let’s get to celebrating – here’s my Zoom call conversation with Madeline Sheppard and Rachel Durocher. AND KEEP LISTENING to the end as I connect with the talented Terra Spencer to celebrate her winning Music Nova Scotia‘s Entertainer of the Year Award, her Canadian Folk Music Award nominations and much more! (you’ll find the player at the bottom of the post)
