Ruth Lawrence
Description
Broadcast Date – September 24, 2025
Our chats will be just that, very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable. And today’s guest was all that and then some, which makes infinite sense given all she’s got on the go and all the creative hats she wears. From award-winning actress and writer and director to the reason we’re celebrating today – her latest producing project BLUEBERRY GRUNT which made its planetary premiere at the 45th Annual Atlantic International Film Festival. So you best be sure we’ll talk about that marvellous movie and so much more, including her incredible connection with the film’s writer and director, Sherry White and how they’ll be swapping roles for their next exciting project. We’ll also hear the story behind her fun film PARTY PIRATE and learn what it was like to direct her talented son, Luke Lawrence. Plus, we’ll hear how she handles festivals and discover the serendipitous way she made her foray into documentary filmmaking, too. We’ll get The 1st Word, conduct The Final Countdown and even spin a couple of her favourite tunes along the way. So with all that ahead we best get to it! Here’s my sit-down conversation with the one and only Ruth Lawrence. (player at the bottom of this post)
