Jennie Bovard
Description
Broadcast Date – July 9, 2025
Our chats will be just very conversational, not entirely sensible and with any luck totally enjoyable. And today’s show is a true treat because not only are we chatting with a truly gifted columnist, podcaster and mentor, we’re connecting today to celebrate the broadcast premiere of her brand new TV series called PRETTY BLIND. A groundbreaking comedy that serves to bring lightness and laughs through a fictional twist on her real-life experience navigating the world with both albinism and partial sight. So we’ll chat about the first-of-its-kind show and so much more, including how she teamed up with Canadian Comedy greats Mark Forward and Jonathan Torrens to bring the series to life and the phenomenal Nova Scotia film crew that made every day such a pleasure. We’ll also learn about the special production considerations required when filming with low-vision cast members and determine just how closely her real-life family resembles the truly trying TV version from the show. Plus, we’ll get THE 1st WORD, play an enlightening round of INsights IN 10 and even spin a couple of her favourite tunes throughout the hour. So with all that ahead we best get to it – here’s my telephone conversation with the one and only Jennie Bovard (you’ll find the player at the bottom of the post)
